At present, water jet machining is the main way of cutting building materials and metals. The rapid and environmentally friendly cutting method has a very wide application prospect. From metal materials to non-metal materials, from natural materials to artificial materials, from food to household goods, water jet machining has an irreplaceable position in the civil and military fields.
After the water jet cutter is cut, the surface is neat and smooth, and the object to be cut will not be damaged in the cutting process. There is almost no limitation of material and thickness: whether it is metal such as ordinary steel plate, stainless steel, copper, titanium, aluminum alloy, or non-metal such as stone, ceramics, glass, rubber, plastic, paper and composite materials, it is applicable; the cutting speed is fast, reducing the cutting time and manufacturing cost 。
There will be no arc, dust and toxic gas during the cutting process. The operation environment is clean and in line with strict environmental protection requirements.

The cutting machine was used in industry in 1982, the earliest one appeared in 1970. It is mainly used in automobile, aviation and glass industry, and the accuracy is constantly improved from these cutting. The pressure of the abrasive cutting machine can reach 55000 psi. This kind of high-pressure water is emitted at 762 M / s through a small nozzle, which is 2.5 times the speed of sound.
The pomegranate sand is mixed into the high-speed water jet, mixed in the mixing pipe, and then directly ejected from the sand pipe to the processed material at a speed of 305m / s. This cutting process is actually a grinding and cutting process, and this force and action are generated by water. Dr. Norman Franz has always been recognized as the father of the water saber. He was the first person to study the cutting tools of ultra-high pressure (UHP) water cutters. Ultrahigh pressure is defined as more than 30000 psi. Dr. Franz, a forestry engineer, is looking for a new way to cut the trunk of a tree into wood. In 1950, Franz put a heavy weight on the water column for the first time, forcing water through a small nozzle. He obtained a short high-pressure jet (several times exceeding the current pressure) and was able to cut wood and other materials. His later work involved more continuous flow, but he found it very difficult to obtain continuous high pressure. At the same time, the life of parts is also measured in minutes, not weeks or months today. Dr Franz has never produced a mass-produced wood cutter. Today, wood cutting is one of the least important applications of UHP technology. But Dr. Franz has shown that high-speed converging streams have a huge amount of cutting energy – an energy application far beyond Dr. Franz’s dream. In 1979, Dr. Mohamed hashish worked in the ferro Research Office, and began to study ways to increase the cutting energy of water cutters, so as to cut metals and other hard materials. Dr. hashish is known as the father of the sanding water jet. He invented the method of adding sand to the ordinary water jet. He used garnet as sand. In this way, a water jet cutter (containing garnet sand) can cut almost any material. In 1980, sanding knives were first used to cut metal, glass and concrete. In 1983, the world’s first commercial sanding water jet cutter cutting system came out, used to cut automotive glass. The first users of the technology were the aerospace industry, which found that the water jet cutter was an ideal tool for cutting stainless steel, titanium, high-strength light-weight synthetic materials and carbon fiber composite materials used in military aircraft (already used in civil aircraft). Since then, sanding hydraulic knives have been adopted by many other industries, such as processing plants, stone materials, ceramic tiles, glass, jet engines, construction, nuclear industry, shipyards, etc.

Garnet sand can be used as abrasives of sand adding ultra-high pressure water jet cutting equipment (commonly known as sand adding water knife). Because of its wide application and easy operation, water jet cutting is the fastest developing main machining technology in the world. When water is pressurized to 40000 psi (or more) and passes through a small opening, it can cut various soft materials including food, paper, paper diapers, rubber and foam. When a small amount of garnet sand is added to the water arrow and mixed with it, the sand adding water arrow can actually cut any hard material including metal, composite material, stone and glass. The conventional specifications of abrasive for water cutting are: 30-60mesh 80mesh etc.
Advantages:
(1) Uniform particle size and flat cutting surface
(2) Scientific particle size control, good cutting performance and fast cutting speed
(3) High particle purity, less impurities, good cutting environment
(4) Good quality, less wear and tear of accessories, prolonging service life of equipment, saving comprehensive cost
In short, high quality and low price save time and effort.
